What is fitness? When talking about fitness people always think of going to the gym and working out, but that is not what fitness is all about. In the report I will explain the different states of fitness and how can a person be fit.

The most known type of fitness would be physical fitness but this also falls into several categories, such as weightlifting, physical exercises, running, swimming etc.  What fitness does is it aids in sports, whether we would gain more strength, stamina or endurance, which helps us tackle various sports.

By adding fitness to our lifestyle, we would benefit tremendously by being more active and less prone to diseases and that would also enhance our blood circulation that would also be beneficial to the brain and heart.

The USA alone reports at least 250,000 death annually due to the fact that people do not exercise or have an active lifestyle, their reason was it was not having enough time, because jobs require sitting for hours, while more and more excuses come up with technological advancements that does not require us to use manual labor people just got lazy. (Health Benefits of Physical Fitness.1999)

While being lazy and not active, you are open to more health risks, such as:
·      Type 2 diabetes
·      High Blood Pressure
·      Coronary heart disease
·      Stroke
·      Death

To avoid this, and help the world’s population to be aware that lack of activity would be certain to cause chronic diseases, and premature death, studies state that you do not have to work very hard in order to be physically fit from the start, take things slow, for example, instead of driving to your work or grocery store or anywhere, walk or bike instead, unless that would be impossible, then specify a time in your week to talk a normal paced walk at least an hour twice, or three times a week until you get used to it and slowly you would turn your life around and would want to live a healthy and active lifestyle because of the benefits it would give you and not to mention letting you be in a better mood as well, because psychological studies have shown that lack of exercise would cause depression. (Lack of exercise…2012)

As we look forward to the advantages of having a physically active lifestyle we would gain a lot of benefits such as:

·      Weight Control
·      Reducing the risks of chronic diseases
·      Overall better mood
·      Feeling active and full of energy
·      Helps with sleep

But the benefits just don’t stop there, there are many more advantages, it could also help with bonding with your family if you are always stuck in the office and have no time to see them, planning a family fitness day three times a week would be fun and at the same time healthy so you and your family can always motivate each other, same thing with doing it with your friends, it creates a bond between people. (Staff, M. C. 2014)

But fitness alone won’t do much, in order to sustain a healthy lifestyle and is able to workout dieting should be considered as it will help you reach your goals of weigh loss or fitness, as there may be a million diet plans, most of them do not actually work, you should try your best to consume natural foods and drinking plenty of water.

In the long run you would eventually be bored with doing the same exercise over and over again, since humans grow and evolve, we are prone to evolve our sports as well, and over the years, there have been many ways to perform exercises which have been growing in reputation and the most famous fitness sport is weight lifting, it has been available for so many years, and in recent years it has become a trend for people especially teenagers in high school, because not only does it give you a great physique but you’d have more endurance and strength.

Other than weight lifting, there have been other sports, which are categorized in 4 groups: (4 Types of Exercise. n.d.)

·      Endurance
o   Walking
o   Dancing
o   Swimming
o   Tennis/basketball
o   Boxing
·      Strength
o   Resistance training
o   Weight lifting
o   Cross fit
·      Balance
o   Yoga
o   Tai chi
·      Flexibility
o   Aerobics
o   Gymnastics

By mixing up these exercise groups you would have no excuse to be bored from trying out fitness, you could also focus on one that you like, and try out others for an added benefit if you would go pro in them.

Starting group sessions will also motivate people and stay in competition so if they see themselves as slacking they could challenge themselves to beat their teammates, or one-to-one competition with your friend and see who would end up in a better physical appearance and overall health after a specified time.

Muhammed Ali

Muhammad Ali was originally known as Cassius Clay. He changed his name after joining the Nation of Islam in 1964 and he is Sufi. He was publicly vilified for his refusal to be conscripted into the U.S military, based on his religious beliefs and opposition to the Vietnam War. He also fought champions Joe Frazier, Sonny Liston, Floyd Patterson and Ken Norton. His fighting style was described as “float like a butterfly, sting like a bee”. In 1999, Ali was crowned “Sportsman of the Century” by Sports Illustrated and “Sports Personality of the Century”. Ali brought beauty and grace to the most uncompromising of sports through the wonderful excesses of skill and character.
